Patient-First (Pts)
A constant reminder that the ultimate goal is improving the patient experience.
Patient-first innovation for precision targeting
The journey toward precision treatment is complex, but the ambition is clear: create a future in which targeted therapeutic delivery becomes a reliable reality for patients.
To achieve a future where targeted therapeutic delivery is a reality for patients, overcoming historical roadblocks through collaborative innovation and a patient-first approach.
To identify and resolve the fundamental challenges of targeted therapeutic delivery by coordinating a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders and building the right culture to drive this ambitious technological journey forward.
Origin & Purpose
Overcoming the systemic roadblocks between academic research and clinical practice to ensure targeted therapies reach patients.
The pts66 initiative was initiated in the summer of 2026 by Christophe Chautems. Looking ahead, it is foreseen that the initiative could evolve toward an independent association, a foundation, or a non-profit organization to steward this mission long-term for public and patient benefit.
The decision to launch pts66 was driven by a glaring reality: while significant funding flows into targeted therapeutic delivery, it often lacks the critical mass and continuity required to produce a definitive clinical breakthrough and transform routine medical practice.
Too many projects run on short 3- to 5-year grants and must pause until the next funding round arrives. When restarted, projects often begin again with new PhD students without proper knowledge transfer, causing valuable momentum and institutional memory to be lost.
Research groups are too often competing against each other for grants, journal publications, and visibility rather than collaborating. This rivalry fragments talent and slows down collective progress on shared technical hurdles.
Targeted delivery demands tight synergy between magnetic navigation, robotics, chemistry, regulatory science, and clinicians. Without strong, persistent multidisciplinary collaboration, targeted therapeutic delivery will never reach the patients.
What pts66 means
A constant reminder that the ultimate goal is improving the patient experience.
A nod to the spirit of the 1960s—an era of bold, moonshot engineering—and the inspiration of Fantastic Voyage, where the dream of navigating the human body first captured the public imagination. It also symbolizes the "road"—the deliberate, necessary journey of bringing treatments from the lab to the patient.
The technical foundation for delivering more precise, patient-centered therapies.
Every person's journey and needs are unique, and the work honors that individual path.
